First time really exploring Sentosa

We had been to Sentosa countless times (where else can we go in Singapore? lol) but never went to any of the attractions because of the cost and assumed poor quality. However, thanks to the boy, we finally purchased the $30.99 package, which allows us to experience three of the attractions.

First up was the Merlion. See the people at the top? Soon, that was where we would be.

The current view from the mouth wasn't picture perfect due to a lot of construction going on where the casino and Universal Studios would be.

For lunch, we had pretty expensive poached salmon and lobster laksa. They tasted real nice though.

Unfortunately there wasn't any dessert to go along, but this made up for it :)

If you're lucky, you'd be able to see peacocks. I'm glad they survived the bout of sickness a couple of years ago.

Drivers beware. Lol.

How rude!

But pretty!

We saw monkeys too!

I enjoyed visiting the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom. Most of the butterflies and insects in there were pinned.

But there were live ones too.

There is a bird show held twice or thrice a day in there. Although it is single entry to each attraction, you could ask to be let in again when it's time for the shows.

A reminder of the flower show 2009 that we missed, as we didn't want to risk getting sick before our Japan trip.

It was a rather enjoyable day. Having something new to do on this tiny island is always greatly appreciated. For the kids at heart, here's leaving you with a huge board of snakes and ladders!
