Kenzoki Belle De Jour

A very light and comfortingly sweet powdery scent, with a hint of soapiness, probably due to the added parfum which I wish they'd done away with. A relatively rich cream that spreads easily and is not greasy. It absorbs pretty well, leaving your skin with a subtle sheen.

Kenzoki Belle De Jour

It contains a high concentration of white lotus root water, which is specially cultivated in Zhejiang province. The premise is in the magic of the lotus, which manages to maintain its purity even though it grows in murky silt waters.

Kenzoki Belle De Jour

Again, as with most Kenzoki products, the main benefit for me is its aromatherapeutic properties. It calms and relaxes me, and the priceyness somehow makes one feel pampered. And that is probably how it works its magic; in de-stressing you and lifting your spirits, it gives you clearer and more radiant skin.

Trip to Sentosa 2010 (Lights of Spring Festival, Resort World)

We drove in to Sentosa since it is cheaper to drive in after 7pm then to take the Sentosa Express. I was so happy to see the castle! I miss Universal Studios Osaka, and to have one in my very own country is just kind of surreal! Though I've checked out the rides they have and nothing much interests me. It's either too thrilling for my liking or boring kiddy rides. I wish they have something in between, especially Spiderman which was awesome.

The Merlion is sooo beautiful today though it looks incredibly fierce. Colorful lasers project a myraid of patterns on it throughout the night.

The Lights of Spring Festival was a disappointment. Unlike the Flower Festival in previous years, nice pictures can hardly be taken of this event. Everything is so dark it makes you wonder if they named the event correctly.

The 10 Rings of Enchantment representing Happiness, Health, Abundance, Love, Harmony, Togetherness, Wealth, Longevity, Knowledge and Peace.

Lights of Spring Festival
Many people were taking photos at The Ring of Togetherness, which looks like the symbol for infinity as well as the number 8, which represents luck.

You could also, for $2, buy a card to write your New Year wishes on and hang them on the Tree of Life, a universal symbol in many cultures and traditions representing Rebirth.

And if you continue to walk to where the dragon trail used to be, there is a path and a bridge to Resorts World, where the hotels, casino and Universal Studios are.

Though all the tickets for the preview of Universal Studios had been snapped up, Hersheys Chocolate World was open and we grabbed a couple of Reese's. I love peanut butter!

We stood for a while and pouted at the throngs of foreigners who were going into the casino for free before heading to one of the hotels to grab a drink. We thought that there would be a Hard Rock Cafe within the Hard Rock Hotel but we were wrong! The place has absolutely no atmosphere. The lobby lounge was more lobby than lounge, and the makan place was at best a canteen. Big disappointment! Needless to say we headed off to some other more pleasant place to chill for the night.

CNY Dinner at Oscar's, Conrad

We went to Oscar thinking that they had lo hei but apparently it only starts from 22 January. Darn it! Other than this disappointment, and the fact that the Filipino staff shucking the oysters treated us with double standards which pissed my bb off, the selection and quality of the food was as usual, rather good. Clearing of dishes was prompt only when the place was half full.

The selection of bread which they bring to each table.

The cold dishes the boy headed for.

Oscar's Conrad Hotel

Sphagetti, fried rice, beef stew, yam balls, chicken in corn sauce, cod fish, garlic prawns, roast duck and chicken.

A mixed platter of sushi, and lobster salad in the glass.

Chicken soup with papaya and white fungus. This is the first time I've seen this dish at a buffet.

Nonya kueh, mango chocolate cake, plum mousse (this wasn't good) ...

Fruits and chocolate biscotti. They have a variety of biscuits but after all the baking I did, I'm kind of weaned off the craving ... lol. I took the biscotti just so I could compare it to the one I baked :)

Salad and crackers. I'm not a salad person but since I have not tried germinated beans nor radish before, why not?

Ice cream for last. Sour mango and passion fruit for the kick, pistachio tasted almony, tiramisu was good, chocolate & vanilla. A selection of fine chocolate, gummies, marshmallows and other toppings to go along ...
