Lunasol Control Makeup Base #03 (Clear)

The Lunasol Control Makeup Base #03 (Clear) comes in a 25ml rectangular glass bottle with a pump dispenser. I like that it contains spf21++, which helps to boost the spf that is already in my foundation or loose powder.

At first glance, I thought that the bright yellowish fluid would not be a match for my skin tone. However, the scentless fluid blends miraculously into my skin without tinting it yellow, yet evens out imperfections ever so slightly. On casual days I just dust some loose powder over it and am on my way. It would have been better if it had some oil control properties though.

It retails for Y3,500 in Japan. I don't think they carry #03 anymore but I would repurchase if they do. Here's the ingredients' list if you can read Japanese.

Etude House Wannabe Style Nails #2 So Cute Love

The limited edition Etude House Wannabe Style Nails #2 So Cute Love was 30% off retail, and mesmerised by the grey shade, I purchased it for about $8.

Etude House Wannabe Style Nail Polish

It includes two 7g botlles of nail polish, a grey shade and a pink one, and a sheet of cute nail stickers :D

Etude House Wannabe Style Nail Polish

I love the fact that the #1 Cute Grey has a bluish tint to it. It dries rather quickly, and staying power is moderate. No photos of #2 Milky Pink though, as it is so diluted I couldn't get an even opaque coat even after three layers.

D-Plus Natural Yeast Bread Cheese and Melon Flavour

Saw these for the first time a year or so ago and thought it was some yummy Japanese bread. I chose the cheese flavoured one but sad to say, I could hardly taste the cheese. It was as if I was eating plain bread.

A week ago I saw the melon-flavoured one at a petrol kiosk's convenience store. The taste and smell of melon was much stronger. I think the melon-flavoured one is seasonal so if you do see it, grab one :)

D-Plus Natural Yeast Bread Cheese

It's made in Singapore with ingredients imported from Japan. Not sure what the monthly limited edition flavours could be ... hmmm.

Boots Complexion Refining Toning Lotion (The Power Of Botanics)

The Boots Complexion Refining Toning Lotion comes in a long plastic bottle with a screw top cap. Acne does improve after a few uses, and pores are temporarily less obvious, though if you have really oily skin, it will still get shiny during the course of the day.

Boots Complexion Refining Toning Lotion

The 150ml bottle of sea green liquid has the kaolin settling at the bottom and has to be shaken well before use.

Boots Complexion Refining Toning Lotion

After shaking, you'll get a powdery dull green liquid which you'll dispense onto a cotton pad and swipe across your face as you would any other toner.

The liquid has a slightly spicy scent due to the rosemary leaf extract which helps to reduce inflammation. Kaolin helps to absorb excess oil, while the glycerin hydrates.

Laneige Multi Cleanser (Professional Makeup Remover)

The Laneige Multi Cleanser comes in a 180ml squeeze tube with a screw-top cap. Although it claims to be a makeup remover, I prefer to depend on my cleansing wipes or cleansing water to do a better job.

Laneige Multi Cleanser

The light pink pearlescent cream has the typical Laneige scent, and a small amount produces a sufficient amount of foam for a thorough cleansing. There are beads in the foam, but they are too tiny and mild to produce any effect and cannot be considered a scrub at all. It cleans really well though, even for oily skins, without leaving the skin dry or taut.

Dr Hauschka Eye Solace Soothing Compress

Unlike the Dr Hauschka Rhythmic Night Conditioner, the Eye Solace comes in a box of ten 5ml plastic vials. This makes it safer when breaking the seal to release the liquid within.

Dr Hauschka Lotion Apaisante pour les Yeux

The rose-scented solution contains eyebright extract to tone, fennel seed extract to reduce puffiness, woundwort extract to heal, camomile to soothe, and damask rose oil to moisturise the skin.

Dr Hauschka Eye Solace Soothing Compress

A single vial has enough liquid to saturate two cotton pads, which you place over the eyes for 5-10 minutes, and then some. It works well to soothe and hydrate the eye area but not much else.

Tohato Caramel Corn Strawberry Flavour (Seasonal)

I never developed a liking for Tohato Caramel Corn, until I saw a guy at Daiso grabbing a few bags of the strawberry flavoured ones.

I have to say I like it! The light coating of strawberry dust gives the puffs a flavour not unlike strawberry pocky, and yet the yummy taste of corn still comes through on occasion.

Mark's and Spencer's Jalapeno Cheese Crispies

Because of the unforgettable and sorely missed breakfast at N.Y Bagels in Taipei, I had to get myself a box of the Mark's and Spencer Jalapeno Cheese Crispies the moment I saw that it had cheese and jalapenos in it.

Mark's and Spencer Jalapeno Cheese Crispies

Crispy and light would be an appropriate description of the crackers, but it sure isn't anything like puff pastries. It is slightly bitter, with a strong taste of gouda cheese and yes, you do taste minute bits of hot pepper. Pretty good, although I would have preferred it less bitter and more spicy :D

Kameda Umashio Ebisen (Japanese Prawn Crackers)

I like prawn crackers! It's just really difficult to find ones that are tasty.

Some are terribly bland, or a little too hard, or tastes like plastic, or just too oily. Hence I heaved a sigh of relief when I bit into my first piece of Kameda Umashio Ebisen. The cracker is thicker than most, looks like it's going to taste a little plasticky but not at all, with the prawn flavour and salt in just the right proportion.

Yes, it contains MSG, but some things are just too difficult to resist :D

Cute Japanese Jenga Toys For Kids

I was browsing at the toy department at BHG last weekend, when these cute Japanese toys caught my eye. You probably wouldn't be able to tell what they are at first glance, but these are actually Jenga-like games for kids.

Not some boring old blocks, but in the shape of pandas and colorful scoops of ice cream!
