To get to Yehliu, you would have to find the Taipei Bus Station A, which is bounded by the Taipei Railway Station on one side and K Mall/Shinkong Mitsukoshi on the other. You would be able to recognise the place by the open air bus interchange. A return ticket costs NT89 and will take about 80 minutes each way. The bus will make a couple of stops along the way, one being near Zhongxiao Fuxing Station Exit 2 near Omega (opposite Sogo). Expect traffic jams just before the highway.
The bus driver we encountered was terribly unfriendly, but it's wise to let him know that you'll be alighting at Yehliu, which is the stop in the picture below.
Upon turning left, you will have to walk for about 10 minutes, past the marina, a temple, and some shops, before arriving at the entrance to the Geopark.
The entrance fee is a reasonable NT50 and the park closes at 5pm. By the time you make your way out, the sun would have already set.

I couldn't help taking a picture of this middle-aged lady doing a 70's beach pose for her husband. I was amused at her lack of inhibition.
The star attraction would be the Queen's Head rock formation, but there are numerous other beautifully eroded formations to marvel at.

There are numerous other rock formations that resemble animals and plants, but I'll let you enjoy exploring the place on your own.
We arrived close to 4pm that day, and had about an hour to explore the area, which isn't that big anyway. I would suggest you give yourself at least 2 hours to fully explore and soak in the wonderful atmosphere.
We passed by this wooden gate lookalike on our way out. Somehow it felt eerily like a cemetery.
As you exit the park, you would have to walk through a market selling lots of yummy dried cuttlefish snacks.
The Geopark reminds me of an amusement park. It was a little childish, yet at the same time, interesting and entertaining. I notice that opinions on Yehliu vary greatly and I liked the place better than the boy did.
